About Urban Bazaar(tm)

URBAN BAZAAR(tm) is a socially conscious, woman-owned gift shop in San Francisco’s vibrant Inner Sunset District. The creation of two local artists (Briana Bers and Brandi Chalker), Urban Bazaar features Fair Trade & locally handmade jewelry, accessories, and home decor gifts that are not only affordable, but ethically sourced as well. Stemming from Briana and Brandi's shared passions for social justice, environmental responsibility, and promoting the handcrafted arts, the two women aim to create an alternative to big box chains and mass produced goods while supporting artisans locally and abroad. Adorning the citrus colored shelves of Urban Bazaar (tm), customes can find an array of gifts ranging from eco-friendly recycled goods like bicycle tire belts, to fashionable jewelry made by disadvantaged women artisans in developing countries, to a great selection of succulents & plant pots at the store's newest addition, The Succulent Bar. Urban Bazaar (tm) is bursting with gifts you'll love to own or to give. We also host craft nights and workshops to help inspire you to make the things you love.

Fair Trade

Many of our items are certified Fair Trade- meaning they have been made by an artisan in a developing country who enjoys good wages & working conditions- or are made by a local or U.S. artist or craftsperson. Information is posted around the store and on our merchandise tags about the artisan or artisan cooperative that makes each item, so our gifts truly do have a story to tell.

Urban Bazaar (tm) plans to be an educational asset to our community, as well as a fun place to shop. The store and its lush backyard- best described as a "secret garden"- are a great venue for educational events, crafting classes, and art openings and trunk shows. And on a daily basis, the garden will be open to our customers as a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature.
